DIY Reusing Glassware~

Since starting my journey to make my little family more sustainable, and less wasteful, we have been collecting quite a lot of glass. Glass everything!! Baby jars, drink bottles, olive oil and coconut oil jars, you name it! I've slowly transitioned plastic into glass, and while out buying goods, we try our best to buy glass when possible.

When you think about it, the foods we buy are mostly in containers. We PAY for the container as well as the food that's in it, so why toss away a perfectly capable REUSABLE container? Surprisingly, I went from 'What the heck are we going to do with all these??!?!' to 'Ah Hah! This is perfect for.....'

If you go online there are soooo many websites dedicated to amazing tutorials for strange but convenient storage/crafts with our so called 'trash'. For instance- Since giving birth, we bought a ton of baby food, which were in glass jars. Instead of tossing those perfect jars out, we saved them and used them for things like- herbs and spices, craft supply holder, jars for my DIY makeup, even my son loves to use these jars to drink out of! The possibilities are endless!!

So here are a few snapshots of my bathroom glass-goodies. I used baby jars to hold my lovely DIY concoctions (Deodorant, makeup remover, face wash) and we switched up a 'Ginseng up' fizzy drink bottle for a soap dispenser instead of the usual plastic containers.

Ever thought of saving glass jars for things around the house? If so, how's it working for you?

  1. You can magnetize the babyfood/spioce jars onto a strip or vertical pannel for space saving. Just an idea.

    1. Nice! That WOULD look really nice too!
